A multiband antenna with MIMO implementation for USB dongle size wireless devices

A compact multiband antenna is proposed for future 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) wireless devices of USB dongle. The antenna covers LTE band-3 (1710–1880 MHz)/DCS1800 and LTE band-7 (2500–2690 MHZ based on S11 = −6 dB matching criterion. Next the multiple-input-multiple-output configuration of this antenna is investigated. Prototype antennas were fabricated and experimentally verified.
