A system and method for increasing the speed of authentication in various situations. A preferred embodiment provides a novel system and method for reducing authentication delay with a network of mobile nodes, including simultaneously using two EAP runs to reduce total authentication delay. In some embodiments, two EAP implementations are used to authenticate a PaC specific device identifier. In some exemplary embodiments, two EAP implementations are used to authenticate a specific device identifier of a PaC in connection with connecting multiple ISPs simultaneously. [Selection] Figure 3
