Method and system for optimizing energy storage in hybrid road vehicle systems and independent driving wireline-highway vehicle systems

A hybrid power system for driving a highway vehicle comprising a combustion engine (102) having a first power capacity, and a power converter (106), which is driven by the engine (102) to provide electrical primary power. A Traktionsantriebs- (108) system receives the primary electric power, wherein the Traktionsantriebs- (108) system drives the road vehicle independent function of the primary electric power, and wherein the Traktionsantriebs- (108) system further includes a dynamic braking mode of operation. An energy storage medium (112) receives electric power, which through the Traktionsantriebs- (108) system is generated in the dynamic braking mode of operation, wherein the energy storage medium (112) a part of the collected energy to the Traktionsantriebs- (108) transmits system to the primary electric power to increase, wherein the Traktionsantriebs- (108) system is measured at a second power capacity that exceeds the first power capacity.
