A Variable Rate Real-time Unidirectional Video Transmission System Based on Embedded System

With the development of multimedia technology, people have higher requirements on the transmission quality of real-time video especially in channels where bandwidth changes dramatically. It has been an urgent task to establish a real-time video transmission system which can change the data transfer rate and work in a one-way transmission scenario, in order to fulfill the application without using feedback channels. In this paper, to solve these problems, a variable rate real-time unidirectional video transmission system based on embedded system is established by using official camera based on Raspberry Pi, Gstreamer and UDP Socket programming technology based on C/S. The experiment shows that, the rate of video transmission can be controlled and changed in real time by controlling the parameters in this system, and the transmission of video can be adjusted quickly and smoothly with different channel adaptability.
