Very high resolution radar at 300 GHz

In this paper the setup and measurements of a high resolution millimeter wave FMCW radar is presented. The system is operated at 300 GHz providing a maximum bandwidth of more than 40 GHz leading to a range resolution of 3.7 mm. The capability of the radar has been investigated in ISAR measurements by means of a turntable. The presented results demonstrate the high image quality and the richness of details up to a distance of 140 m. With its excellent performance, the system covers a wide range of applications in the security and safety sector.
