Computation and finite element simulation of electromagnetic field of induction heating workpiece

In this paper, a mathematical modal is developed to describe the distribution of electromagnetic field and eddy current density in the long solid cylinder billet of induction heating by Maxwell's equations, according to the mechanism of induction heating. Moreover, the figures of the electromagnetic and eddy current density are obtained with the help of MATLAB and ANSYS software. The skin effect and the distribution of electromagnetic field are described clearly in induction heating. The results show that the finite element analysis results inosculate with the result of theory very well.
