An Innovative Way to Teach Sustainability Concepts in Construction Materials Course

Dr. Pranshoo Solanki is an Assistant Professor at Illinois State University with over 10 years of academic and professional experience in the field of construction materials and geotechnical/pavement engineering. He received his doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma and master’s degree in civil engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He has professional and research experience in dealing with difficult soils/rocks, beneficial use of recycled materials/industrial by-products in pavements, characterization of soils/pavement materials, mechanistic pavement design, pavement geotechnics, pavement instrumentation, nondestructive pavement evaluation, and numerical modeling of geo-materials. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan. Dr. Solanki continues to teach courses in the area of construction materials, design of structures and geotechnical engineering at Illinois State University.
