Hybrid Arithmetic

A general purpose residue rational arithmetic computer architecture is proposed. Ways OF rounding in residue rational arithmetic are discussed, and comparisons are made between the proposed system and current Floating point supercomputers. A method is proposed to achieve an approximate, but very Fast rational arithmetic division. A method is proposed to achieve a fast residue compare and overflow detection by doing small mantissa Floating point computations in parallel with large integer range residue computotions.
