Iris Location Algorithm Based on Snake Model

Iris recognition is regarded as the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system available. The speed and accuracy of iris localization is crucial in an iris recognition system. In this paper, a new iris localization algorithm based on snake model was proposed: the inner boundary is found using Canny edge detector and the outer boundary is localized by Snake model. Extensive experimental results show that the method has satisfying performance both in speed and in precision, also good robustness.
