All-optical binary half adder using SLALOMs

All-optical binary half adder is demonstrated using two semiconductor laser amplifiers in a loop mirror (SLALOMs) which have functions of XOR and AND, respectively. The operation of the proposed scheme is experimentally verified with two input data streams.
