Explaining is Student and is Industry Differences in Perceptions of Skill Importance

162 Business Computer Information students were administered a survey designed to evaluate the importance they placed on certain technical and interpersonal skills desired by industry. Student results were compared to industry desires from a previous study. Differences in the degree of agreement of different student groups suggested by prior research with industry ratings were examined and results discussed in light of prior research. Gender, international student status and number of classes in major influenced degree of correspondence with industry ratings of skill importance.
