Towards secure multi-path routing for wireless mobile ad-hoc networks: A cross-layer strategy

Multi-path routing establishes multiple paths between a source and destination node in a network. This helps in achieving reliability in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). To achieve efficient, secure and reliable multi-path routing for MANETs, we propose a routing mechanism that uses cross-layer strategies. The cross-layer strategy involves incorporating feedback and information from layers below the network layer to make decisions at the network layer. We also propose a path evaluation mechanism for the paths returned by the proposed multi-path routing mechanism.
