Optical System of the Stream Cipher Based on the Hybrid Additive Cellular Automata

A new optical stream cipher for security applications was proposed.The stream ciphers security is enhanced bu using hybrid additive cellular automata(CA).The number of CA arrays can be the pixels on the spatial light modulator(SLM),and a thresholding device unit realizes the CA rules.This system suited for both hybrid optoelectronic and alloptical implementation.Simulation results show that when use a CCD with 480×640 elements,the speed of encryption is to 144 K bits/s,and the sequence length is 2N-1,where N is the initial number of cells.The direct cryptanalysis requires an exponentially growing amount of computational resources.
