Impact performance studies of T-tubular joint impacted on the chord

Jacket offshore platform structure can be severely damaged by collision accident,especially tubular joint failure will lead offshore platform discard.On the base of common parameter,typical analytical joint is determined,and the nonlinear finite element method is used to simulate the deformation development and determined failure model of T-tubular joint in tubular truss under impacted loading.Impact resistance mechanical mechanism is revealed by analyzing impact force,displacement,strain and hammer velocity time history curves.The analysis result shows that the main deformation of tubular joint impacted on the chord is local buckling at impact zone,and whole deformation of joint is small,and "8" shape yield line deforms on the surface of chord.
