Sensing Performance Evaluation of Landslides Prediction System Using Public AM Radio Broadcasting

In order to develop a system predicting landslides by measuring the landslides moisture, at first, the complex permittivity of the hydrated soil was measured by changing the water content and the characteristics of electromagnetic waves in the hydrated soil were calculated. In consequence, it was evident that the water content could be evaluated by observing the reflected wave from the air / hydrated soil boundary at 1MHz because the reflected wave increases as the water content increases. Therefore, in the next study, an antenna that can observe the reflected wave at 1MHz was investigated, being selected as EWE antenna. Finally, the bistatic radar technology using the antenna was investigated. As the result, it could indicate the possibility that the water content in land could be evaluated by using the technology.
