This paper addresses some of the most problematic but important issues remaining in multidimensional computation including structures requiring substantial kernel flexibility, modularizing programs, and upgrading hardware to assure sufficient processing speed and memory. As a vehicle for discussion, a cavity structure filled with an arbitrarily complex medium is treated. Solution of such a problem using available numerical techniques is discussed.
