INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WITH ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE: APPLICATION PROPOSAL FOR HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS

It is increasingly evident, within the organizational management, the necessary alignment between business and information technology, however instruments that materialize and objectively address the issue are not so well known. The Enterprise Architecture (EA) is one such instrument. The making of an EA is typically motivated by the need to manage the complexity of the scenario of technology in organizations. The main aim of this communication research is to present a standard framework for creating Enterprise Architecture and to develop a proposal that focuses in mapping the benefits of a model of EA for Information Management in healthcare organizations. The ArchiMate framework provides a graphical language of architecture representations, able to incorporate the concepts of the service orientation paradigm. The language is simple, but enough comprehensive to provide a good mechanism for structuring the architecture. To introduce the main concepts and establish the theoretical milestone, it was used literature consisted of seminal authors in the areas of Information Management and Enterprise Architecture, such as Thomas Davenport and Marc Lankhorst, respectively. For the state of the art we searched The Open Group and used papers published in major journals in these areas. The proposal, the result of this communication, will serve as basis for the study continuity.
