A mathematical model of arm swing during human locomotion.

Abstract The patterns of electromyographic activity of some of the muscles of the upper limb, and the accelerations of the shoulder joint have been recorded during human locomotion at various cadences. This information, along with other biomechanical data, is used in a mathematical model which predicts the resulting movement patterns of the upper limbs during locomotion
