Navigating PhD study: Tips for starting, surviving and thriving in doctoral study

This session is a facilitated panel discussion where current and former PhD students will share tips and information on topic areas such as: •scoping a suitable research project •choosing a University •setting up your supervisory panel •get through the selection process •surviving the conditional enrolment period •managing your supervisory relationship •dealing with supervisory changes •negotiating that work/study/life balance •keeping going, 1st draft to submission process •preparing for the oral defence It is intended this session is interactive so there will be plenty of time for questions, answers and discussion. This session links to the Wintec Strategic goal of informing quality research-informed vocational teaching as doctorate’s create new knowledge and inform our teaching practices.
