Monolithically integrated 40 Gb/s wavelength converter with multi-frequency laser

An all-optical wavelength-switch module at 40 Gb/s is monolithically integrated in InP by combining an SOA-based wavelength converter and a fast-tunable 8-channel multi-frequency laser. Error-free operation is demonstrated.
