COORDINATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF HVDC MODULATIONS IN MULTI-INFEED HVDC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Here, the non-linear optimization method with parameter constraints is applied to integrated AC/DC hybrid power system in which the multi-infeed DC power transmission system is included, and the research on coordination controls among the HVDC modulations is conducted. The approach for this research is that to minimize the objective function containing the inter-area oscillation characteristics, and at the same time to optimize the parameters of the HVDC modulations in the preselected multi-infeed DC transmission system, finally, the optimized regulation among the HVDC modulations is implemented, thus under the optimization and global coordination the damping of the whole system to the electromechanical oscillations in the AC system is enhanced. Taking the planned power network in the South Power Grid in 2005 for example, the effectiveness and the robustness of the presented method are verified.
