Iterative Detection Algorithm of Convolutional Coded GMSK Signals in Satellite Mobile Channel

A new simple modulation scheme and serially iterative decoding scheme for quasi-coherent detection convolutional coded GMSK signals was presented.The new scheme has many advantages.It does not need phase recovery and requires simple timing synchronization,while excellent BER performance can be attained using iterative channel estimation algorithm.Numerous simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can get approximate BER performance in AWGN channel compared with the coherent detection algorithm.The new scheme with twice hard decision feedback iterative channel estimation process yields a gain over 4.1 dB,4.2 dB and 4.1 dB for a bit error rate of 10-3 compared with the differential detection algorithm in AWGN channel,light fade channel and moderate fade channel respectively.
