Electronic queuing system and method

The invention discloses an electronic queuing system. The system comprises: a queuing management server used for receiving the business service request of a user and providing the user with queuing information and a service sequence number; and a communication gateway connected with the queuing management server and used for forwarding the business service request of a user terminal to the queuing management server, as well as forwarding a response message of the server to the user terminal. The response message comprises the queuing information and the service sequence number of the user terminal. The invention also provides an electronic queuing method. With the adoption of the electronic queuing system, remote sequence number taking for joining in queue can be realized, thus saving the on-site queuing time of users and improving the working efficiency as well as service quality.
