A method of sorting waste mixtures

The present invention relates to a process for sorting mixtures of waste by irradiating the waste items with electromagnetic and/or acoustic waves, recording the waves from the irradiated item of waste in a signal processing device to identify it and transmitting the signals from the signal processing device to a separator device which sorts the identified item.
