A SMART OR INTELLIGENT SENSOR FOR ROAD AND URBAN TRAFFIC
暂无分享,去创建一个
This paper considers how a smart or intelligent traffic sensor could be used to improve the information supplied to, and thus the performance of, traffic control systems. The requirements of an intelligent sensor are discussed in terms of measurement, validation, configuration and communication. The magnetic loop is used as an example of a sensor. The operation of the magnetic loop and its drawbacks are described. The use of a semi-intelligent sensor is outlined. The advantages of an intelligent sensor are discussed and an example described. A variety of useful parameters can be measured for a variety of users. Precise details can be obtained about traffic conditions and anomalies localised. For the covering abstract see IRRD 882109.
