Dynamic analysis of the main trolley frame in load-lifting system of casting crane

Casting crane is indispensable equipment in lifting and transporting of the steel smelting industry. The main trolley frame is a key part of the casting crane, played an important role in lifting, transporting and uninstalling the steel ladle. It would suffer the cycle impact loads in its operation which are more likely to cause damages than the static loads. In order to study the dynamic characteristics, the main trolley frame's 3D model and the steel ladle lifting dynamic system were established firstly. Then, the elasticity force of the steel wire rope under different lifting velocities can be obtained by solving the steel ladle lifting dynamic system. After that, the ANSYS Workbench was utilized to the modal analysis, and then the transient dynamic analysis was implemented with taking the sum of elasticity forces and the gravity of reels and reducer as the loads. Finally, the time responses of the deformation, velocity and acceleration of the danger node can be obtained from the analysis. The research results truly reflected the dynamic characteristics of the main trolley frame in the steel ladle lifting stage, which will provide the references for the optimal design and reliability study of the main trolley frame.
