Automatic recognition of vehicles approaching from behind

A vision system designed to recognize in real-time vehicles approaching a car from behind is introduced. It has a modular structure and may be part of an automatic co-pilot assisting a human driver, or of an autonomous vehicle. An implementation of this system has been tested in various highway scenes.<<ETX>>
