Biomimetic Sensing Systems With Arrayed Nonspecific Sensors

Artificial odor recognition systems using an array of chemical sensors with weak and overlapped selectivities are reviewed. After comparing the characteristics of several recent systems, author's system is discussed concerning the selectivity control, use of organic molecular films and algorithm. Finally, mobile and active sensing systems and the future trend are discussed.
