A synthesis of systems inquiry and the eastern mode of inquiry

The goal of science is presented as the achievement of a completely unified and consistent account of all possible phenomena. The process of advancement in methodological approaches to this goal is discussed, with emphasis given to the exposing and refining of limiting assumptions. Two methodologies are examined, that of systems inquiry and the Eastern mode of inquiry, and are viewed as refinements to the limiting assumptions of traditional scientific methodology. Each is then taken in the context of the assumptions of the other, and a synthesis is achieved. This synthesis maximizes the refinement potential of each, coordinating them into an ever-deepening process of refinement that approaches a theoretically {open_quotes}complete{close_quotes} account of all possible phenomena. 30 refs.
