High speed parallel data transmission and power transmission technology for wireless repeater system

System studies and hardware investigations on high-speed wireless communications such as several Gbit/s are being conducted at quasi-millimeter and millimeter-wave frequencies. However, these systems have the problem that there are limitations in the application and the environment, because the millimeter-wave has high rectilinear propagation characteristics. For address this problem, we propose to adopt the high data-rate wireless repeater system using the short range multi input multi output (MIMO) transmission technology and the wireless power transmission technology. The results of measured and simulated frequency utilization of the 4×4 MIMO transmission at 5 GHz band are in good agreement Over 20 bits/s/Hz frequency utilization can be achieved: 800Mbps/1.6Gbps transmission can be realized when the bandwidth of 40/80 MHz are assumed. Moreover, the frequency utilizations in measured and simulated results are higher than the frequency utilization in i.i.d. channel. Additionally, to clarify the possibility of wireless power transmission system, we try to measure the insertion loss. And, it is clear that the insertion loss of the concrete that thickness is 120 mm is about 13 dB.
