EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF ADVERSE DRUG REACTION REPORTING AMONG MEDICAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

Spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) plays a major role in pharmacovigilance programme. Hence this present study was undertaken to evaluate the impact of educational intervention; to assess knowledge, attitude and reporting of adverse drug reactions among the medical undergraduate students. It was a cross-sectional questionnaire based study conducted in a tertiary care medical college. Data was analysed and presented in percentage and counts. A total of two hundred and thirty eight (238) medical undergraduates participated in this study; most of them were aware of the concepts of ADR reporting. The results of this study show that the educational intervention about ADR reporting in curriculum has created awareness of pharmacovigilance programme among students and may help them to incorporate in their future clinical practice.
