Shaft Seal and Measures to Ensure Its Integrality of Reactor Coolant Pumps for Qinshan Phase II NPP Project

This paper presents the function, diagram, parameter measure, emergency shutdown operation, and troubleshooting of the shaft seal for the reactor coolant pumps in Qinshan Phase II NPP Project, and the measures to ensure its integrality. These measures include adopting the emergency diesel generator, steam turbine-driven hydrostatic test pump and high temperature O-ring which is able to withstand 288℃ during station blackout.
