Securing America's Passenger Rail Systems

This report discusses the need for passenger rail security in the United States - both for rail transit systems and passenger railroads, such as Amtrak - and possible security measures that can be taken to increase passenger rail security. It examines cost effective strategies for managing and mitigating the risk of terrorist attacks to rail passengers. The report addresses the reduction of vulnerabilities and also how to limit consequences of attacks.
