Design of energy systems

The purpose of the package is to let students translate knowledge from fundamental aspects in the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to the analysis and the design of energy systems such as turbines, pumps, piping systems, engines, chemical reactors and combustion systems. Flow instabilities, pressure waves, shock waves, turbulence and chemical reactions often occur in those kinds of systems. The physical backgrounds and models for these phenomena are analyzed using their governing equations, and the models are applied to practical problems.
