Digital camera and image composing method thereof

PURPOSE: A digital camera and an image processing method thereof are provided to divide an image of a subject by the cell and analyze frequency domains of each cell to extract a mixed area based on a focus of the subject image, and to overlay the extracted mixed area with a selected background image, so that the subject image is simply mixed with the background image using the digital camera. CONSTITUTION: A CCD(Charge Coupled Device,1) outputs image signals corresponding to an image of a subject imaged on a lens. A graphic processing unit(2) processes the image signals to convert a state of the subject image to a visible state. A video memory(16) stores at least one background image data. A mixed area extractor(17) analyzes frequency domains of the subject image, to extract a mixed area to be mixed with the background image data. An image mixer(18) mixes the mixed area with the background image data, to output a mixed image. A CPU(Central Processing Unit,10) fetches the background image data from the video memory on the selection from an external, and controls operations of the mixed area extractor and the image mixer to mix the selected background image data with the mixed area.
