Multi-antenna System Performance Under ICSIT and ICSIR Channel Conditions

In 5G cellular systems, MIMO plays an important role in the access technology and radio access network topology. The MIMO uses an additional space dimension beyond time and frequency to enhance the QoS by providing diversity gain, data rate (capacity) by multiplexing gain, coverage and outage by array gain. In this paper, different multi-antenna system performances are compared using a capacity performance metric. The capacity from performance metric is expressed in terms of spectral efficiencies versus SNR in dB. Results indicate that by increasing the number of transmitting and receiving antennas, there is an improvement in the capacities of each SIMO, MISO and MIMO system configurations without boosting the transmitted power and additional spectral requirement. Results also indicate that the capacity of MIMO wireless system is more when compared to the other diversity techniques (SIMO and MISO).
