A Speech Coding and Transmission Algorithm for Defending Wide-band Blocking Interference in Wireless Channel

A Sliding window algorithm is proposed for the demands of speech communications in Frequency-Hopping(FH)channel with wideband blocking interference. The bit stream to be transmitted is equally divided into slices, with a fixed length "sliding window" that slides on them. Several slices are taken and transmitted as data of one hop. The overlapped part of the data of consecutive hops is compared and the bad hop decision is made at the receiver. Each slice is error protected, while the Joint Maximum Posterior Probability decoding is applied. Simulations show that the performance of sliding window algorithm is very much better than that of the traditional RS coding algorithm under the same channel conditions.
