Digital life gap between students and lecturers

The investigation of the digital life of the students - belonging to the Z generation - studying at the higher education of engineering and the lecturers belonging to the older generation, revealing the different habits and the values of life are in the scope of this study. It is clearly visible that nowadays researchers deal more and more with the habits and the digital life of the students belonging to the Z, and following them the α and the CE generations. The previous generations would like to have an insight into the life of the digital natives, to understand what they do and mainly why. In the present study we are trying to find the answer to what differences can be traced between the digital life of the present Z generation students who obviously mean the CogInfoCom, society and that of the lecturers teaching them. In the article we present the questionnaire survey carried out among the Computer Science engineers and electric engineers students of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Pecs and also the results of the detailed interview surveys carried out among the lecturers which help us draw the right conclusions and answer the questions.
