Phosphorylative glycolysis has recently been shown to be a pathway of glucose metabolism in Trypanosoma equiperdum.1 In the present report, data of the effects of arsenicals and antimonials on the activity of hexokinase and 3-phosphoglyceraldehyde dehydrogenase systems in a preparation of lysed T. equiperdum will be presented. The effect of these compounds on the activity of adenosine triphosphatase of such a preparation and the antagonism between them and sulfhydryl compounds were also investigated.
