Technologies of Real-time Tumor-tracking during Dynamic Radiotherapy

During the radiotherapy,tumors and surrounding tissues locating inside the thorax or abdomen are deformed in cycles with the physiological or physical influence such as breathing.The resulted uncertainty of tumor targeting becomes the main obstacle of radiotherapies,as well as the challenging problem.In this paper,the general station and the key technologies in the image-guided radiotherapy and adaptive radiotherapy were discussed.The main principle and technology of dynamical radiotherapy were introduced,and various algorithms of tumor-tracking were analyzed and compared according to their characteristics.3D-reconstruction based on X-ray projection was briefly expatiated,the essential problems and its measures for the management of dynamic tumor were discussed as well. In summary,solving the problem of the uncertainty in tumor control lies mostly on the level of imaging technology,the acquirement of prior knowledge and the robust mathematic model.
