Brushless Doubly-fed Wind Generator System Excited by Matrix Converter

Matrix converter(MC) has the capabilities such as bi-directional power flow,low harmonic,keeping power factor of input as 1 and high quality input/output performance,it is the hot research of power electronics technology.The principle and model of MC are analyzed.Using DSP and CPLD,according to the double space vector modulation and four-step com-mutation strategy,a 5 kW MC experiment prototype is built up.A brushless doubly-fed generator is used to built a brushless doubly-fed wind power experimental platform.The experimental result proves the validity of the MC design and feasibility of appliance in brushless doubly-fed wind power system,which provides the foundation for the practical application of MC.
