동적특성에 따른 초고층 건축물의 풍진동 응답

The height of modern buildings tends to increase owing to improvement of structural systems, development of construction methods and increase of the strength of structural materials. Tall buildings are vulnerable to lateral forces such as wind load because they are lightweight, very flexible and low in structural damping. This paper investigates the characteristics of wind-excited response of a tall building according to dynamic characteristics. The buildings for the study have rectangular shapes, and the aspect ratio(H/B) of the building is 6, which is the scale of 100 stories. Three dynamic models with different side ratios(1:1, 1:1.25, 1:1.5) were used to investigate the wind-excited response according to natural frequencies and structural damping. A series of wind-tunnel tests were carried out in the boundary layer wind tunnel. The experiment results are presented in the form of response with reduced frequency and peak factors with reduced velocity. Test results showed that even though the reduced frequency increased, the peak and RMS displacements in the along-wind direction were generally constant. However, for the across-wind direction, as the reduced frequency increased, the peak and RMS displacements generally tended to decrease.
