Fibre-radio: challenges and possible solutions

Rapid developments in lightwave and microwave enabling technologies have led to intense research efforts into millimetre-wave fibre-radio systems which offer the capacity to provide broadband interactive services. In this paper we present some of the technical challenges facing the implementation of such systems and propose some potential solutions.
