The research on control algorithms of vehicle active suspension system

An active suspension system for vehicles using NN (neural networks) & GA (genetic algorithm) and LQG (linear quadratic gaussian) controls is proposed in the paper. A four-degree freedom suspension vibration model is described by a nonlinear system, subject to irregular excitations from a road surface. The performance of the nonlinear suspension with the NN & GA controller is compared with the performance with the LQG controller. The simulation results indicate that the proposed active suspension system proves to be effective in the vibration isolation of the suspension system. The control object of an active suspension system is to produce excellent ride comfort and good holding ability.
