Adaptive computing is key to achieving computational efficiency. This paper addresses the latest results from QuickSilver Technology's work on adaptive computing. It illustrates performance results from the first adaptive computing test chip, compares them against simulation results, and illustrates areas where performance increases can be expected in future generations of devices. In addition, it gives a performance comparison between ACM (adaptive computing machine) technology and conventional DSP and ASIC implementations for the same applications.
