This chapter describes the evolution of the history of legal consequences of the construction of a wall in the occupied Palestinian territory that has been dealt by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The format is similar to the contentious cases - begins with the exact question(s) placed by the requesting organisation, source of authority seeking the opinion, duration of the proceedings, states, organisations and others authorised by the Court to file written statements and present oral statements during the public hearings, headnotes, operative paragraph, record of opinions and sources of law. The chapter covers four patterns of analysis - duration of cases and advisory opinions of the Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ) and the ICJ; records of states as applicant(s) and/ or respondent(s); records of states and authorised organisations on written and oral statements; and records of declarations and opinions of judges and judge ad hoc.
