Performance analysis of a triple-basin still integrated with a natural circulation solar heater

Abstract An analysis for prediction of the performance of a triple-basin still integrated with a solar water heater is presented. The analysis includes presentation of the solar still and solar water heater equations, the manipulation, and the solution of these equations. The results indicated that the daily distillate produced can be more than doubled by integrating a solar water heater to the triple-basin still. The maximum increase in the daily percentage distillate is obtained when the surface areas of the solar water heater and the triple-basin still are equal.
