Perception Drift.

There is currently a gap in the dermatologic literature regarding our patient’s perception of their beauty and how this perception changes after cosmetic procedures. The nearest fieldwith supporting evidence is the field of neuroaesthetics. Neuroaesthetics explores the neurologic processes that occur when we appraise objects, including the human body. This field has shown us that there are 3 main neural pathways activated during the aesthetic experience: sensory–motor, emotion–valuation, and meaning–knowledge. It is believed that these systems evolved to help early humans assess an object’s biological importance.
