Power and traffic driven handover algorithms in microcellular networks with non-uniform traffic distribution

This paper investigates the performance of handover algorithms in microcellular environments characterized by non-uniform distribution of users. Propagation, mobility and network aspects are taken into account. We propose some new algorithms based on power measurements and traffic estimates. We show that, depending on the scenario, the optimum algorithm has to be carefully chosen.
