Bearing capacity of backfilling area roof in gob-side entry retaining

In order to obtain the surrounding rock stress evolution law influenced by bearing capacity of backfilling area roof in gob-side entry retaining,based on the typical engineering geological conditions of Guqiao Coal Mine in Huainan mining area,conducted plane-strain physical simulation experiment to research on whether the reinforced backfilling area roof had an influence on surrounding rock stress distribution law in gob-side entry retaining.The results show that for the un-reinforced backfilling area roof,the stress on the solid coal side is minor,and its highest stress is 2/3 of that when the roof is reinforced.For the reinforced backfilling area roof,the highest stress on the solid coal is 1.5 times of that,and correspondingly,the stress on the backfilling wall is only 28% of that when the roof is un-reinforced.The reinforced backfilling area roof decreases the stress on backfilling wall,which has a significant improvement on the strength of backfilling wall.
